W4OXH (Oscar Norris) 100 years Birthday Celebration!

All who know him, love him: Oscar Norris, W4OXH.

Quite possibly the oldest active amateur radio operator in the United States of America. And you would never know he was blind if you got perfect travel directions from him (for real). A GCARS member since 1979. He will be turning 100 years old very shortly, and we at GCARS, Lord willing, are going to host a birthday celebration for him as follows:

September 23, 2017, 1 p.m. EDT to 4 p.m. EDT. Event to be at the Victory Hill Baptist Church 2300 Philadelphia Church Road, Dallas, NC 28034

Please note: the event will be at the fellowship hall of the church, on the left side of the road when heading North (across the street from the main sanctuary). 

We plan on having a special event radio station, call sign: N1C (Norris 1 Century); Hopefully, to operate on HF and a Brandmeister DMR  Channel.
