2016 GCARS Exam Schedule

**Exams begin at 9:30 am**

January 9

March 12

May 14

July 9

September 10

November 12

**Exams are held at Southminster Presbyterian Church at 1401 Hoffman Rd. in Gastonia, NC  28054.  The exam room is to the right through the doors by the prayer garden.  The cost for the test is $10.  The $10 cost covers all test levels taken at that exam session provided that the examinee passes the previous level license exam.  (So it is possible to take the tech, general and extra exams for $10 given each prior level is passed).

GCARS examinations are accredited through the WCARS VEC.

Gaston County Amateur Radio Society Monthly Meetings

Gaston County Amateur Radio Society (GCARS) has our monthly meetings on the first Monday of each month,  at 7 p.m., at 190 S. Oakland St. Gastonia, NC (in the Red Cross Building upstairs).

We welcome all those who have any interest in ham radio and electronics. You do not have to be a licensed ham to attend!

GCARS Weekly Nets

GCARS nets are weekly on Tuesday evenings!!
The 440 net begins at 8 pm.  Frequency is 444.550mHz.
The 2m net begins at 8:30 pm.  Frequency is 147.120mHz (100Hz tone). Both of these repeaters are located on Spencer Mountain in Gaston County.

GCARS Traders Net immediately follows the 2m net each Tuesday night!

GCARS has 2 regular weekly lunch meet ups.

On Mondays, GCARS meets at Grits-n-Greens located at 125 N Main St Lowell, NC.

On Fridays, GCARS meets at Friendly’s located at 119 N Main St Stanley, NC.
