Gaston County Amateur Radio Society Monthly Meetings

Gaston County Amateur Radio Society (GCARS) has monthly meetings on the first Monday of each month, at 7 p.m., at the Gastonia Church of Christ located at 1919 N. Newhope Road, Gastonia NC 28054

We welcome all those who have any interest in ham radio and electronics. You do not have to be a licensed ham to attend!

The Gaston County Amateur Radio Society has voted to Support the Gaston Regional Skywarn Team, as their efforts are relentless, to help save lives in the Community, and to report severe weather and damage to the Greenville/Spartanburg NWS.

We have one (1) GCARS/ARES Weekly Net!

 Tuesday evenings:.

The 2m net begins at 8:30 pm. The frequency is 147.120MHz (100Hz tone)..  The 440 net is linked with the 147.120 repeater at this time.. The frequency is 444.550 MHz (100 Hz tone)

The GCARS Traders Net immediately follows the 2m net each Tuesday night!

 Another net is the “World Wide” Net on Talk Group 91 (Brandmeister World Wide), Saturdays at 12:00 p.m. (E.D.T.) local time, on our new NC4GC DMR Repeater:

This repeater may be reached at 445.7250 MHz (- 5 MHz offset), color code 1.

All of these repeaters are located on Spencer Mountain in Gaston County.
